Coming from a family of farmers, with a degree in horticultural production and a certificate in horticulture, Marc Mathieu has been serving Kubota Montreal customers for the past four years.

For the Saint-Antoine-Abbé native who was raised on land where apple trees, blueberries and maple syrup were grown, there was no doubt that he would embark on a career in agriculture. That's why, as soon as he learned that a position was available at Kubota Montreal, he didn't hesitate to submit his application. Marc’s first position at Kubota Montreal, the leader in agricultural machinery, was as a yard manager. After a year in that job, he was offered an opportunity to join the parts department. That's all it took for him to jump at the chance. After all, he was on familiar ground.

"I seized the opportunity," says Marc. “I really know the reality of our customers. I know that broken equipment is a major concern for a farmer. Farm work can rarely be postponed. I understand this reality because I experienced it myself when my parents owned the business. When the time comes to do some work, you can't put it off. If you don't, inevitably the effects will be felt.”

During his three years in the parts department, Marc has developed long-standing relationships with his customers. He even offers them advice. “Trust has been established," says the man who can't imagine a career in any other field. “Sometimes, I've already had the same problem as the customer. I explain how I solved the situation. Oftentimes, at the end of my work day, I stop at a customer's house on my route to deliver a part. This way, the repairs can be done quickly so that the customer can get up and running in no time."

Although he doesn't own his own farm, Marc is attuned to the challenges farmers face, thanks to his job at Kubota Montreal. "I want to help and make a difference for those who work in the field. I am familiar with Kubota equipment as it is this brand that we had at our family farm. I know how reliable the products are. Owners can rest easy that they are investing in reliable equipment for the long haul."
